There is currently no canonical source for Drupal Camp Organizers documentation. Organizers have been discussing a "Camp Toolkit" for a number of years now, and we'd like to officially request to host this documentation on d.o.

We have the start of a lot of documentation in some Google Docs, we'd like to combine that with @ultimike's great work and other assorted blog posts, etc into a top-level handbook at https://www.drupal.org/documentation entitled "Drupal Camp Organizer Handbook", hopefully at https://www.drupal.org/docs/camps.

Please let me know what else is needed to get this started. Thanks!

This sounds like a good idea and you have good content already. I think you need someone with documentation super powers to create the top-level "area" - or maybe I don't see how I can create it for you. Maybe @eojthebrave can provide some info or fix it for you?

I found we already have https://www.drupal.org/node/247972, which I’m sure is outdated and/or incomplete. Is that something that should be migrated and used as a starting point?

The pages around that are about organizing other types of events. I think we’ll want one guide for events in general, with a sub-guide for camps, instead of top-level guides for each type of event.

I think this will eventually go into https://www.drupal.org/community/event-organizers, and that group is working on creating the documentation with @rachel_norfolk's help on the DA side, so I think this issue can be closed.
