All of the documentation and comments I've read so far point to installing the Commerce UPS module. But the information on that module's page says that it has not been ported to Drupal 8.
Does that mean that if a client currently ships via UPS and the costs are calculated based on weight and size, then Commerce 2.x cannot be used for a website that is being built for them in Drupal 8? Is there an ETA for completion?
I'd hate to have to learn another extension, but is Ubercart the only other option I have?

A port is being developed at https://github.com/blueoakinteractive/commerce_ups, but I don't know what the timeline for completion is. You'll need to ask Andy G. yourself (either by email or at #commerce on Drupal Slack).
What else should I be reading?

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Since I did not know that from reading the main documentation on your site, nor from the data in the module description here (as referenced in my OP), what else should I be reading to keep informed as to the various parts of Commerce 2.x that might not be officially released yet and where they are located?
Not complaining - just want to make sure that I have all of the necessary info in front of me as I work through the setup piece by piece on a test site before I put it live on my client's site.
