Quiz5 question updated - options screen? [#2903189]

I updated a question with Quiz 5 and got the handy dandy options screen. Cool feature! However, I didn't know what to do.

Here is what I saw...

You have created a new revision of a question that belongs to 1 quizzes. Choose what you want to do with the different quizzes.

exclusive options
_ Create new revision
_ Do nothing

check box
_ Leave published

Update
Replace the old revision of the question with the new revision. This may affect reporting. It is the default when the most recent Quiz revision has not been answered.
Create new revision
If the current revision of a Quiz has been answered, you should make a new revision to ensure that existing answer statistics and reports remain correct.
If the new revision of the question only corrects spelling errors, you do not need to create a new revision of the Quiz.
Do nothing
The quiz will not be revised, and will still use the old revision of the question.

I just corrected the spelling in the question so I thought I wanted to choose 'update' but it was not available as a choice.

You don't have access to "update" because you need the "manual quiz revisioning" permission.

It's up to you to decide on what to do.

There is help text below each option that should explain the consequences of modifying questions in quizzes that have already been taken.

One more question. This option, "Do nothing, The quiz will not be revised, and will still use the old revision of the question" is available to everyone without the 'manually update Quiz' perm... and it seems like a dangerous option.

If a trainer updates a question and then chooses this option is the Quiz permanently set to use the older version of the question? How would the trainer visibly be reminded and see later that they are using an older version of a question and not the latest? And how would the trainer update the Quiz to use the latest version of the question at a future point?

There's a checkbox on the manage questions screen called "Latest" - if you check that, it will then update the quiz to the latest version of the question once you save the questions list. It will also create a new revision of the Quiz unless you have permission to decide on what to do (which would also show you the "New revision" checkbox on that same page).
