google-api-php-client library was not found

I installed the module and followed the instructions for installing the google-api-php-client library as written in the documentation. However, when I configure the block and show it on a page, I get the following error: GCal Events: The google-api-php-client library was not found. Is some additional code modification needed that is not noted in the documentation?
