Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Hi! As you have no doubt seen, there is a lot of interest in the 6.x branch of Foundation for 8.x and 7.x.
At the same time, Zurb is working on a 7th version of Foundation with a bunch of new stuff.
I myself have been swamped with multiple projects that keeps me from really digging in here, but I see a handful of folks posting and eager to move forward.
If you are interested in becoming a co-maintainer, please comment. I will remain in an advisory position, but we need help to move this project forward.

HongPong CreditAttribution: HongPong at kor group commentedHi, I would like to help with zurb_foundation. However I think everyone has to come to a good decision about whether or not to make some breaking changes like removing the src class file and bower. I would rather move ahead with the breaking changes in a batch and hopefully be done with it. #2895755: Remove Bower and use npm instead , #2867688: compatibility problem with drupal-8.3.0 and ds-8.x-3.x, #2871479: Upgrade from layout plugin to Layout API / Layout discovery these are the big things to sort out.

Gather those folks and come to a good consensus.
My gut feeling is bower is out anyway and has been for a while. I have been reading myself on how to reduce so many tools and just script through npm.
Also post Drupal 8.3.x, the layout manager is in core so we should adapt to that.

HongPong CreditAttribution: HongPong at kor group commentedOK sounds good I will try to get these things moving. Can you enable access to editing the project landing page text? Certain things like #2789845: Download of .zip fails due to hyphen/underscore project name might need to get pointed out there. I didn't realize there was a weird underscore-dash problem with this project. And more clearly to tell people to get their layouts here from now on https://www.drupal.org/project/foundation_layouts

That issue goes back a long way. At some point the project shortname was requested to be updated from _ to - or vice versa, I forget. This broke the statistics tracking, folks git and or Update checking from Drupal.org, and has made it in general more confusing to figure out how to install with Drush or Composer.

FlorisMoriceauI'm not proficient yet with the Drupal workflow, but I can help.
Count me in.

kevinquillen CreditAttribution: kevinquillen at Velir commentedOkay, how about coordinating with HongPong on some low hanging fruit issues, create some patches and review outstanding patches?
HongPong CreditAttribution: HongPong at kor group commentedWelcome aboard :)
There is a whole stack of issues that can be converted to documentation from both 7.x and 8.x sides, I tagged another one as documentation last night. People get confused over stuff and documentation goes a long ways to help, I started there for sure (as well as updating readmes).
The other thing is that the composer.json file has old versions of everything in 7.x-5.x / 7.x-4.x making it very difficult to get a new instance going so if you can set it to the new versions of everything and go through it a couple times, that would be a huge help. There are a few tickets where people had a huge amount of trouble on this. Good to have you on this thing!!

steveoriolI can help at my level, when I find the time.
I use the "8.6.x" on a production site, I could not wait, I know, it's bad ...

sim_1Hi, I'd like to help with maintaining this theme if I can and if there's still a need. I am currently helping by reviewing other people's patches, and making patches when I understand what direction to go.

asrobHi, as sim_1 said, I'd like to help with maintaining this theme as well. :)

HongPong CreditAttribution: HongPong at kor group commentedHi sim_1 & asrob,
I would support having you aboard as comaintainers and appreciate all the help that you have given on these things. I don't have the controls to add you however. I think kevinquillen has that.
Thanks so much for your continuing interest in this theme!!
