Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
I was interested to see whether it was a right choice to move from Redhen to CRM Core a year ago and I made this chart.
... yep, does not look too good right now. Opinions? I'd really love to see just 1 codebase for this almost identical stuff!

miro_dietikerI think the axes are wrongly labeled here?

Yeah our crm initiative did not lead to the needed project volume (like some interest, but no real support) to make crm core a solid mvp for end users. So it is only a prototype that works for us with very limited expectations.
I don't think adoption rate is really relevant at those lower counts. What would be needed is supporters with a LOT of time and funds to back the hard work ahead of us.
But yeah, maybe redhen will win the race because it caught a little more momentum. But in the end it's the same game: if people realise that a crm is a real need and creates business value, they should decide to fund the work. As long as this doesn't happen, there is no point in theories about things that don't happen.

RoSk0I would argue that those two code bases could be treated as "identical".
CRM Core - framework to build custom Drupal-native CRM solutions.
RedHen is a Drupal-native CRM initially designed for common nonprofit needs.
In a perfect world RedHen would be using CRM Core as a base and build on top like Erpal do, but ...
I'm trying to find some funding to continue porting to Drupal 8.

miro_dietikerCrossing fingers @RoSk0 - it's such a pity we didn't progress further.. I still believe that this is a huge missed opportunity for Drupal 8. :-)

ChoY CreditAttribution: ChoY as a volunteer commentedI loved to work with CRM core, first as standalone than with ERPAL Platform (which is unfortunately no more maintained).
When time came to switch to Drupal 8 one of my first steps were trying to install the CRM Core dev on 8.
But all the time it failed, as son as I tried to activate the crm_core_relationship_ui Module and crashed my site.
So the simple reason why I do not use CRM Core on D8 is because it doesn't work.
I tried out then RedHen. But it couldn't convince me. So I am really hoping there will be soon an installable CRM Core version
Thanks a lot in advance for the developers ... There is a need for CRM solutions with D8 (just as ERP-Solutions integrating CRM Core).

RoSk0Hi @ChoY,
Thanks a lot for such a warm words. It really motivates and makes me confident that I don't waste time on this project.
I'm trying to find time to continue porting work. Hopefully I will manage it and will have some help from community.

grahlFeedback in #5 answers why the two projects are each relevant so I'm closing this issue to clean up the queue.
