I have installed the Views Accordion module on two drupal 7.54 sites. One site works fine. On the other, VA has an issue: The accordion header link that opens and closes the accordion on click is adding the hash path to the page URL and history. You have to back up through all the headers you clicked on to get to the previous page. This is the way a normal named anchor tag works, but not a proper accordion or internal page tab. The official JQuery Accordion demo and my other site do not do this. Note: I do not have the Navigation option selected in the view display settings.

OK, problem solved. It was a conflict with the hashtags and anchors due to this module: https://www.drupal.org/project/scroll_to_destination_anchors. Disabling that module solves the issue.
