Adding a new autocomplete requires clearing the cache

I guess it's related to Views caching or one of the page caches (or maybe exists for all of those), but when adding autocompletion for a search, this sometimes only takes effect after clearing the cache.
It's not a big problem, but it would be nice if we could figure out which caches interfere here and automatically clear those when autocomplete for a search is added. (Probably has to be implemented by the type plugin?)
