There are quit some coding style issues since new checks got introduced. Let's fix them / or disable the checks if there are situations where they are wrong.

I went through all the error messages in the above link and they have all either been fixed or marked as ignore in phpcs.xml.dist.

The Drupal testbot output does not currently report any coding standards violations.

I think this issue can now be marked as "Fixed", and if a future coding standards problem arises we can open a new issue specifically for that problem.
