I installed a theme on Drupal 8. I tried both, manually uploading & moving the folder into the themes directory; and uploading the theme on the Drupal interface. When I move the theme into the directory, I don't see it pop up on my themes. When I upload it on the Drupal UI, after uploading it takes me to a 404 not found page.

I have the latest version of Drupal installed, and it is a purchased theme off themeforest.

support should come form the provider of the theme. First thing I'd check is server permissions on the sites/all/themes/ folder and then on the folder that contains the theme.

if your core themes work as expected, your question would be answered by inspecting the server permission on those folders/files/
