The module cannot be properly installed. After I uninstall the module, I have still data related to xmlsitemap module in my database. At /admin/config I am getting this error:

The problem is, that this is the database of a website which is live. How can I remove this module from my database?

Search for uninstalling modules in D8, there can be some hangups. You likely need to add the module folder back to your site, reinstall, then uninstall properly. Copy the database to your local test site, or dev site, whatever. Don't play around with the live site, or at least make a database backup.
