Using D7.54, JW player 7.x-2.x-dev. My JW Player Playlist shows the file name and YouTube link. How do I show a file/link title instead? Step by step greatly appreciated. Thanks! Playlist example

based on the link I can't quite determine what you're asking about. Before the play button is clicked there is some text in the video area 'nickburns1' is this what you are asking about?
Yes. Filename shown
Yes. The filename is nickburns1.m4v. There are several in the playlist.

question is best served in the issue queue of the project in question as you will likely need to adjust the code (if its at all possible) and the filename is being fed by youtube. Perhaps, a workaround would be to name the file on youtube as you want it fed to Drupal.
File name in Media browser???
Actually a title/name is assigned in the media browser (see attached photo). But only the actual file name and URL is shown. Media browser

I don't see how the media browser is able to add include anything into a video pulled from youtube. You can test by changing the name/title in the media browser and see if it changes what is displayed in the video. I still only see nuckburns1 embedded in the video. It's certainly not a separate element in drupal as can be viewed in the HTML.
I'd also change the title/filename in youtube to narrow down what exactly has the control. I still put forth that youtube is in control.
All hosted files
All listings are files on our host except one on YouTube. That one in the list shows "gibberish" from the YT link.

Please post a screenshot of the text you are asking about. I believe we are communicating about two different things.
Playlist screenshot
First, thank you for helping!!! Here's a screenshot of my playlist. It is showing the name of the file. Notice #7, which is a YouTube link and it shows the link code which I referred to as gibberish "FVUuX3f50IY". Actual link is:JSC: 2nd Annual Road to Riviera Holiday Classic Now, without changing the file name from "nickburns1.mp4" to something else, how do I make my playlist read hypothetically: Driver1, Chipping, Hole-in-one, etc.? Here is a screenshot of my content. Thanks again.

yep we were talking about two different things. Let me take another look now that were aligned.
Based on:
My question to you is where is the nickburns5_putting being pulled from? your opening post indicates it is a title. A title of what? A node? a field? a file?
The only way I can see to try and override it would be via javascript which is out of my wheelhouse, but something has to be driving what is being pulled from the player itself.
Name from file itself
It is NOT showing a title, but rather the file name itself. I assigned a "title" to the file in the Media Browser but they do not show (under "Name"). File structure. These two screenshots should clear things up. This "should" be so easy to do. :>)

so change the file name and re-upload the file? I don't see any other way to handle it except to make sure your file names are aligned. If the player is pulling directly from the filename, you'd have to alter the player behavior. If you want to jump off that cliff, you'll need PHP and .js skillset to determine exactly what the player is doing. This isn't as much a Drupal issue as it is a player issue and Drupal.org isn't responsible for 3rd party code.
Workaround
The filename itself has been my workaround. Of course, the YouTube link ignores that. I'll check more in JW Player support forums. It was coded in HTML.
