I'm developing the D8 version of the mailing_list module. It provides a multipurpose subscription mechanism. Subscriptions are entities, making it a perfect complement for the views_send module. Used in combination, they offer a way to create a light, modular and simple newsletter system, so it may be useful to add it to the related modules in the documentation.

Thx for the pointer. Seems like a very interesting module together with Views Send. I'll have to try it out myself.
