In fact on the simple title field (not long text), I don't have really the possibility to set the maxlength itself of the field.

Limit the maximum length of the field in characters using the "Maximum length" value set in the field settings using Javascript.

and the maximum length of the field by default is 255, which in fact i can't really change.

Does anyone know how to solve it?

I've updated the description of this for clarification. Unfortunately we are not actively maintaining the Drupal 7 version of the module.

The good news is that title fields are supported in the Drupal 8/9 version. I encourage you to upgrade to Drupal 8/9 if you haven't already.
