I have a content type that is panelized.

The links do not appear on these panelized nodes but they do appear on normal nodes such as default Drupal Basic-Page. I've used this module on many sites but never on a panelized node.

First I tried just using the default enabling and various settings for placment etc. Yes I do have the Print link enabled in the content types, including the panelized node-type and also enabled them in Panel.

In the 1st screenshot, the "lab_product" content-type is the panelized node. And as mentioned, I also enabled the links in "Panel" content-type.

The second screenshot shows how I tried to explicitly place the widget into the panel display.

I know I can write custom content and use tokens to achieve the display however I am hoping someone has run across this and has a simple solution that won't require tracking "non-native" content :)

Thanks in advance for any advice, tips etc.

So... 99% of all problems are the fault of the end user :)

After some digging, I found out that I simply did not understand the settings fully.

To get the Print module to work on my panelized nodes (see attached screenshot):
I had to enable:

Link Location: Block (checkboxes)
Show on every page except the listed pages (radio buttons).

Show link in system (non-content) pages
Any page that is not a Drupal node. Usually pages generated by Drupal or a module such as Views or Panels.

The reason you have to enable "Block" is because in a Panleized node, the "Printer, email and PDF versions" is a custom block under "Miscellaneous" when adding content to a Panel section. REF: https://www.drupal.org/node/190173#enabled

A bit of reading and experimentation did the trick... amazing eh? ~enjoy :)
