Will there be a Drupal8 version of OpenAid or will the Drupal7 version soon get an update again?

Great question. There are no plans to release a Drupal 8 version of OpenAid, however, some OpenAid folks are combining forces with the maintainers of OpenOutreach and others in the Drupal community to release distributions within a larger "ecosystem of distributions" called Drutopia.

You can read more about that initiative at drutopia.org

The first specialized distribution is called Solidarity and will have much of the functionality OpenAid and OpenOutreach have.
