Rules in 6x was so easy to use. As it's progressed it has only gotten ridiculously hard to operate. I know this post will take a lot of flack, but I really wish Rules was simpler to handle as it was in D6. In D7 the selection method changed drastically. Even though I have done amazing things with it in D7, I still wish it was easier to operate. Essentially, after D6, there needs to be an operations manual where a developer can filter what type of rule they want to set and then the output is the rule itself - or import code. Right now, for instance, I want a simple redirect after a user logs in to the homepage. Do you know how easy it was to set in D6 and how hard it is to set in D8? Great module - Great Idea - Extremely powerful - but a bit too complicated for me.

There are no specific suggestions here. The only request "I want a simple redirect after a user logs in to the homepage." has been documented several times, with several variations (by me) in this issue queue with a full working Rule export.

If you want to help out, then document what you've learned or add examples to the Rules documentation pages. Try out the UI improvements, test patches, etc.
