Allow XML elements to pass through as field values to process plugins (for SimpleXML processor) [#2860785]

The patch from #2792765: Allow XML elements to pass through as field values to process plugins also needs to be applied to the Simple XML parser. The referenced issue only applied it to the more advanced XML parser.

Looks good - I'd ask for tests, but since we don't have any XML test infrastructure setup yet, better to add a test as part of #2876730: Add tests for XML parsers.
