Recently my web host migrated one of my sites to a new server, and all of the menu items that link to taxonomy terms have disappeared. There were dozens of them before, so I would prefer not to have to manually recreate them.

I have checked content permissions, and the taxonomy view displays correctly when I visit a taxonomy path. But the menus don't appear either in the site navigation or in the menu editing pages.

All of the original menu items are still in the database, and I have tried re-uploading the menu_links table from a backup to see if that changes anything, but it doesn't.

There are no PHP errors or anything relevant in the error logs that I can see.

If I manually create a new menu item, it does show up, so why aren't the old ones displaying?
