I just installed a Drupal 8 with the Group module to do multisite using PURL (like og+spaces+purl on Drupal 7).

Is there a way to do this?

There is now, almost!

See #2717981: Group ID unavailable when editing the referenced entity - I've created a group_purl module with plugins for Purl that make it work like og+spaces+purl in d6/d7... still have a caching issue to work out, and it needs a bunch of patches I've added as pull requests to https://github.com/activelamp/purl-d8 -- you can get them all from https://github.com/freelock/purl-d8 .

Just looking for feedback on whether to post group_purl as a standalone module, or whether the group maintainer wants it as a submodule or direct plugins inside group...
