Hi,

Can you give me an idea which file controls the size of the footer please? Is it a file within the theme? Or a file that controls the placing of all of the contents on the page? Or is it within the block module files?

There is no single answer to that. It will depend on the block and on your theme, and each theme has it's own file naming conventions.

But the simple answer is that whichever file controls it, you can override it in the CSS in whichever theme you are using. Look at the documentation for the theme you are using to find out where to add custom CSS.
