As stated in another post, I uninstalled the theme, sub theme and AT module ...since RC3 isn´t available on the project page I decided to give it a go with 8.x-2.x-dev ...both theme and AT module. But I can not enable AT Theme Generator and AT Tools modules since AT Tools requires layout_plugin which is missing.

On the project page it states that : Layout-Plugins included - full support for Display Suite and Panels, all responsive!

I went to the layout_plugin project page but I have no clue if I should install it since it is supposed to be included. If it is not included anymore, what version matches: the alpha or dev release?

just needs a clarification to the docs:

Layout Plugin is a module, AT needs this for part of the layout system (such as other modules do like Display Suit, Paragraphs etc).

So from here: https://www.drupal.org/project/layout_plugin just use the latest alpha.

Note that from Drupal 8.3.x this module will be in Drupal core, so eventually we won't need to install it.

On the project page it states that : Layout-Plugins included - full support for Display Suite and Panels, all responsive!

What I really should be saying here is: Layout plugin layouts are included... which means that AT has it's own set of responsive "layouts" that you can use with Display Suit, Panels, Paragraphs etc.
