Display tab and menu not following visibility rule

I have a page display setup to show only to Authenticated user.
However both the menu item and the page tab shows to non authenticated users as well. There is no data inside the page unless you are authenticated (as expected). But still this behaviour is different than what used to work in View 6.x where if a display required a authentication rule, both tab and path used to be not showing to users who do not have access to that page. Why would you want to show a blank page anyway.
