Mollom module for Backdrop CMS?

Hello and thank you for this fantastic module, I have been using it for years on my own Drupal sites, as well as those of my clients.

I've got a few sites that will be moving to Backdrop CMS shortly, and several of us are interested in using the Mollom module with Backdrop. I would be willing to port the module as part of my usual upgrade process, but I wanted to leave a note here to see how the maintainers of Mollom would feel about having a Backdrop version. If you are agreeable to that, would any of you be interested in collaborating on the port, or co/maintaining the Backdrop version?

I do understand that most developers are very busy these days, and/or you may not be interested. If that is the case I would be willing to forge ahead with this project on my own, but only as long as everyone is in agreement that a Backdrop version of Mollom can and should exist.
