DamienMcKennaI guess the first thing would be for me to try the module to make sure it actually works ;-) I've added some issues for tests and documentation.
Honestly I'd like some folks to help test it, see how it works, see what the UX is like, identify any bugs or oddities that are found and see how it goes.

DamienMcKennaWe're jumping ahead to a new 8.x-4.x branch to keep in line with the other Panels modules. The 8.x-1.x branch will be deprecated as soon as we have a working 8.x-4.x branch.

Alumei CreditAttribution: Alumei commented@DamienMcKenna:
Can you maybe do a new alpha relaese like 4.0-alpha1? The latest non dev version is nearly a year old and #2928668: Error: Cannot use object of type Drupal\Core\Render\Markup as array in Drupal\Core\Render\Renderer->doRender() suggests that people tend to use an alpha version instead of the latest dev.
That old version is missing these bugfixes:
* #2874012: Enabling Site Template results in errors
* #2902488: Cannot use object of type Drupal\Core\StringTranslation\TranslatableMarkup as array
And it would also allow newer patches from the queue to be applied against such a release.

karolus CreditAttribution: karolus as a volunteer commented@DamienMcKenna What is the status on this? I have time to help now, and have a test install working as advertised, using the 8.x-1.x version on D8.5.0 running PHP 7.0.

DamienMcKenna@karolus: Thanks for checking in. The branch tests need to be fixed and there's one more issue I think that should go in, then it should be ok for release.
