My browser says:
The requested URL "/sites/default/files/js/js_x7z7D0FdDjI_pVmQU4hIvU34FysrJBkdJFuFDH2RraQ.js" was not found on this server.

However, my system says:
ls /var/www/html/sites/default/files/js/js_x7z7D0FdDjI_pVmQU4hIvU34FysrJBkdJFuFDH2RraQ.js
/var/www/html/sites/default/files/js/js_x7z7D0FdDjI_pVmQU4hIvU34FysrJBkdJFuFDH2RraQ.js

So if the system finds it, why can't the browser??

Have you made changes to the rewrite rules in the .htaccess file?
That might be the source of the problem.

Nope, no changes at all. It was working one day and then the next I started getting 404 not found on these files. Cannot figure out for the life of me why. In fact, I cannot even run update.php because of this issue, even though the file is there.

Im also experiencing this.

No change to .htaccess file.

Drupal 8.
