is there anyway to add the US flag for English along with the English flag?

I'm on 7.x-1.14 and found alternative flags in the module files that included the United States flag. Didn't see any code to enable it so I ended up just modifying the 16, 24, and 32 icon set with provided alternative flag. Attached graphics if anyone needs them.
