Tasks and their status (unmarked tasks are assumed not to be done yet):
- Ensure that most of the current version's user interface has been translated into FR, so that the screenshots will show very little if any English on them.
- [DONE] Translate the "scenario text" into FR. The text to be translated is the "Scenario Text" section of the scripts/TermsToTranslate.fods spreadsheet. What is needed is a 3-column sheet with these columns:
- Context (the column called Context in the TermsTo Translate sheet)
- English text
- Your language text
- [DONE] Make initial automated screenshots. Procedure: See auto_screenshots/README.txt.
- Make initial non-automated screenshots. See the source/en/images/README.txt file for details of which images need to be made.
- Check each screenshot to make sure it is all in the target language and is readable. The FR language team will do this as they translate each topic. If problems are found, add tasks here so that the screenshots can be updated. Leave this issue open until all the topics have been translated and the screenshots checked and/or updated.

jhodgdonThe spreadsheet looks fine! The Japanese team managed to attach theirs but I think it was .ods not .fods. Maybe we should ask the drupal.org site maintainers to add .fods as a valid extension for file uploads.
Anyway, I will see about making the screenshots...
It is time to switch to Drupal 8.3.x (the last time I was still using 8.2.x -- see #2857156: Make a 3.x branch)... And it might be a few days before I get all of them done, because the 8.3 switch will take me a little time (some tests/scripts will most likely need to be modified a bit). They take some time to run anyway... and both Japanese and French just submitted translations today, so I will probably do them together.
Do you think French in Drupal 8.3.x -- the Drupal Core interface -- is mostly translated, so the screenshots will come out mostly in French?
Also, see step 4 in the issue summary, because there are about 6 screenshots (mostly of the French installation) that you will make manually, and you can do those now while I work on the scripted ones.

I'll take care this week of step 4, and ask to the fr team, to reviewed translations in the main time, so we can finally have this french version :)

jhodgdonGreat! The automated screenshots... I'm running into a bug in the scripts, see #2857156-27: Make a 3.x branch, so I'll need to either fix or work around that -- hopefully anyway!. Then I'll get back to making the screenshots.
I should have the French ones done within a few days. I'm glad to see the French translation getting underway!

jhodgdonQuick question before I start on the screenshots... Do you want to translate the paths for the French part of the site? For instance, the home page could be /accueil, the About page could be a-propos, etc. It looks like you translated some of the paths but not all.
Also the URLs for the fake farms could be something like fermejoyeuse.co.fr and mielmoelleux.co.fr rather than happyfarm.com etc.
Also, the machine names need to be all lower-case, so I have updated "Vendeur" to "venduer" in "vendor_type_machine_name", but don't worry about that.

jhodgdonWell, I don't think these URLs are a huge part of the screenshots, so I'm going to go ahead and run them as they are, since I'm trying to get a 3.x release out and it would be nice to have French screenshots even if they aren't perfect.
If the French team wants the URLs translated later on, we can always run them again. Let me know!
