Good morning guys,
I have a client who uses AS400 into his store and wants a new ecommerce, obviously I immediately thought of drupal commerce.
To synchronize the catalogue I thought to do a cron job where every night from AS400 (that will export the data somewhere via FTP) I will update the drupal website with a some kind of php script.
Do you think it will be a good solution? Do anyone had a similar project before?
Any suggestion would be very appreciate...

My customer actually would like to install Magento but I have no experience in this, and so I would propose drupal as a platform ...
What do you think?

Many thanks in advance,
C.

Sorry no one replied when you were asking, but there's nothing about AS400 / FTP imports that would be specific to or a challenge for Drupal Commerce. You'd read and import data from the file via a custom Migrate module plugin most likely. In any event, hope the project went well.
