Problem/Motivation

It basically duplicates https://www.drupal.org/docs/7/theming/creating-a-sub-theme in a less correct and understandable fashion. It would be better to drop it and replace it with a link to that page.

On a larger scale, could the Site Building Guide be replaced by the Theming Drupal 7 guide? That was silly, nevermind. I do agree that there seems to be a bit of information overlap.

I agree. The only thing on https://www.drupal.org/node/980434 not on https://www.drupal.org/docs/7/theming/creating-a-sub-theme is the list of example base themes at the bottom of the page. The page is also in a weird location in the community docs, and hasn't yet been migrated to the new documentation content type.

Seems to me like we could just remove it and redirect the URL to the new page at https://www.drupal.org/docs/7/theming/creating-a-sub-theme

The list of base / starter themes is more complete on https://www.drupal.org/node/323993
