Hi.

While trying to update my 8.2.2. I got this error message:
Unable to untar /tmp/drush_tmp_1480517208_583ee65869977/drupal-8.2.3.tar.gz.

Does anyone have a cause/solution to this?

If you encounter this error in other sections of the site you should check with your host provider for the gzip module.

Gzip is in there. The site has been up and running for 6 months now, and I've patched Drupal previously.

This is also can happen when the temporary folder is mounted as non-exec. The obvious solution is to create your own folder somewhere (preferably above document root) on your server or hosting account, then go to your Configuration > System form and set that to be used as Drupal's temporary folder.
