Sad but true ... i have my sites running D5.7 (not yet upgrage to 5.8) needing this functionality.
Can you suggest other related modules or methods how this can be done in D5 ?

I think the module shouldn't be too hard to downgrade to D5:

- adapt the module to the new menu system
- Build the views (I think D5 still uses views 1.0)

I don't know any other way... that's why I wrote the module ;)
If you write a patch I would happily include it.
