This seems to triggers a field update for the ID field (changing the signed param to TRUE), which then triggers an unsolvable https://www.drupal.org/node/2554101, because the base table for each entity type needs changes that Drupal won't automatically do, and which can't be solved through drush entity-updates because most entity types will have some data.
