Due to security restrictions I can't have the server start an HTTP connection to retrieve the video image thumbnail.

A solution could be to retrieve the image thumbnail using client side JavaScript and include it in the data that is submitted when the node is created.

Is it feasible to retrieve the image thumbnail using client side JavaScript?
And more important is there more people that have restrictions on the server side connections and would benefit from this change?

Hi xpereta, It seems possible, but I don't have the time to attempt a patch for it. I'm also not sure it would be committed to the module, as no one else has expressed similar interest. Were you able to get anywhere with this?
