indexing and displaying unpublished nodes

I know this crosses over in to the larger SOLR land, but since this relates directly to views, and using views, I hope someone has some guidence.

1. How do I get SOLR to index unpublished nodes.

2. Once their indexed, can Apache Solr Views (this module) allow me to display them in the views result.

I have a situation where I have ~400 nodes that are unpublished because the client hasn't figured finalized them, so they want to keep them unpublished -- but know about how you can use VIEWS to display unpublished nodes normally, so they can preview the functionality as content managers / content admins, before it goes to the PUBLIC.

As such, I need to get SOLR to index the nodes - while keeping them unpublished - and then have the views return them for my theming needs.

Thoughts? Ideas?
