Fetching and cloning not working from the simplytest.me server:
git clone --branch 8.2.x https://git.drupal.org/project/drupal.git
Cloning into 'drupal'...
IPs of the servers:
213.133.100.206
144.76.136.176
5.9.96.196
5.9.137.208
Can someone check if there's some kind of block ?
Is it possible to whitelist these servers?

This has been the first time this happened for a long time, did something change about accessing git.drupal.org that I should know?
Is it possible to whitelist the simplytest.me servers? (I know it wasn't in the past, but it can't hurt asking)

patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedOkay.. now I can't make any requests to cgit :-(
http://cgit.drupalcode.org/drupal/refs/
Seems like 213.133.100.206 is blocked now
Heeeelp :)

drummI’m not aware of any blocking that might be going on. And I’m not seeing any general issues with the Git servers.
Does
git clone -vvv --branch 8.2.x https://git.drupal.org/project/drupal.git
provide any more information? What does git.drupal.org resolve to? It should be something like
Can you paste a traceroute to git.drupal.org?

patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedhey drumm, thanks for the answer!
(un?)fortunately git is no longer the issue.
host and trace here anyway:
after git worked again I couldn't access cgit anylonger:
it would just hang up at this.
sorry, I didn't think about doing -vvv because I guessed it was some ip based blocking, but I'll do it if this happens again
so, there's no kind of firewall in front of the drupal.org infrastructure that might block "too many" requests from the same ip?
if there is, it would be good to know where the allowed quota is, so that I can prevent hitting it

patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedOkay, so it's happening again right now :-/
Comment #8
patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedokay, I think this is a problem with my hoster (hetzner), even the non-simplytest.me servers aren't able to reach git.drupal.org atm
Comment #9
patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedokay, it's fine again and I'm 100% sure that this is a problem of my hoster.. going to talk to them, sorry for the noise
