I have some problems with discuss module.
when i set default comments state for nodes OFF in admin/configuration, it can't be changed with a node form anymore.
i set it ON but it doesn't get saved.
when i set default ON, everything works fine, i can toggle comments on and off with a node form.
any ideas?

Same issue here. Disqus 7.x-1.12, Drupal 7.52. If disqus comments not enabled as default on nodes (type page), cannot toggle it on for a specific page. Had to enable as default on all pages, and disable on all of those where i didnt wat it to appear.

This had been fixed in #2508561: Default value handling is broken (Impossible to enable commenting)

Use the dev version or apply the patch in #10.
