This will not affect anyone except the authors of distributions.

We moved the plugin configuration to where it made more sense: the group content type. This was needed in order to prevent crashes for distribution maintainers shipping their distro with pre-configured group types that had content enabled.

If your distribution shipped with group (content) types: Run drush updb on your dev environment before exporting the group (content) types again. If someone already had an installation of your distribution, they will get the new copy automatically by running drush updb.
