I can't find simple text formatter for D7, that makes simple YouTube link into video (no special formatters).
I used Googletube, but sth happend last week, no video, no link. There's no support for that module (more...)

See https://www.drupal.org/project/customfilter

It appears that Google has changed things (again) and broken a lot of embeds all over the Internet.

However:

A YouTube URL of the form https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOMETOKEN can be converted to
https://www.youtube.com/embed/SOMETOKEN to fetch the embeddable video. Wrap that conversion in an iframe and you're good to go.

@ yelvington

GoogleTube works again, but a problem emerge with D8. No version.
For users of my forum the simplest the better. URL in any form (watch, embeded) should be smoothly transformed into video.

You could give the video_filter module a try. It's very easy to use: https://www.drupal.org/project/video_filter

Only a pro content editor can use special syntax.
