Cannot promote to front page

I changed my front page via configuration > basic site settings. Since then any content which I make and "promote to front page" isn't appearing. The log message states:
Notice: Undefined index: #options in omega_preprocess_field() (line 360 of /var/www/vhosts/bruceclark.eu/httpdocs-hopewhitby/themes/omega/omega/omega.theme).
so I was wondering if it is an omega problem?
