We don't wish our production API key to be visible to our agencies (as it's the same across all agencies), I appreciate they can just surface the key with a variable_get if devel module is enabled (and other routes) ~ but we go to lengths to ensure devel isn't on production boxes.

This is solving both https://www.drupal.org/project/fastly/issues/3038573 and https://www.drupal.org/project/fastly/issues/2771971. Added also documentation. API key and service ID are being hidden if current environment variables are used.
