Hello,
Will you be releasing a version of this module without a dependency on Composer Manager, as it has been deprecated?

We refer our customers (Pantheon) to this module, but are also advising against the use of Composer Manager. Please advise - thanks!

Perignon CreditAttribution: Perignon commentedNo, I plan to keep supporting Composer Manager for D7. They build Composer Manager because Drupal 8 could not support composer.json's in individual modules, now it does as of Drupal 8.1. They back-ported it to D7 and I started using it because Composer makes life easier in PHP. I spoke with Bojanz at Drupalcon Barcelona how it came about. If necessary I will ask to be the maintainer of Composer Manager for D7 or fork it.
SendGrid Integration is not the only module I have written that functions with Composer in D7, so I have a vested interest in this. I am not just a maintainer, I am a user :-) I run a large eCommerce site and I cannot migrate to D8 because you cannot build eCommerce in D8 yet like you can in D7.
Composer Manager for D7 is here to stay one way or the other. Libraries module just doesn't cut it.

Perignon CreditAttribution: Perignon commentedIf you make note of the project page, it states that only the D8 version of the module is deprecated. Not the Drupal 7, so I think that answers your question. When I get around to doing more work with the D8 port of this module I will make sure it does not depend on Composer Manager.
