Content Type Filter Criteria:
Is one of;
3 Selected (there is a total of 10 different content types);
Allow multiple selections;
Remember the last selection;
Limit list to selected items;

BEF Settings:
Include Reset Button;
Autosubmit;
Hide Submit button;

Content types:
Article, News, Tutorial

Other:
Ajax - Yes;

When you select a content type, the filter works great. But when you uncheck the same content type (so none are selected) it then does not update the list to be all content types again.

This issues is fixed by unchecking Remember the last selection.

Is there a fix so that the filter works as expected with the Remember the last selection option?

Hi, there will be no more future development for 7.x branch. If you see this issue in 8.x, feel free to file an issue. Closing this as Closed(wont fix).
