The weights in the menu are not reflected in the sitemap. It displays new menu items at the bottom of the list.

Thanks for reporting this behavior. Note that regardless of this patch, core menu links, are affected by this critical bug: #2464077: Menu link overrides are lost after cache rebuild.

Edit: Requires to rebuild cache.
