Activity date does not get created when activity is created through CRM Core Profile

Just as the title says, I cannot get the built-in date field to populate when I create an activity via CRM Core Profile.

The activity itself is set to autopopulate the date field as "now", and it works as expected when manually creating an activity. I've also tried every token I could in the profile builder form related to dates - no luck with any of them either.

My next step is to try and ID where this might go in the module and hack it (with the goal of creating a patch), but as I am just starting out on my module building & php learning curve I'm not very optimistic I'll be able make this happen.

If this should already be working, please let me know what I might be doing wrong. If this is default behavior, please let me know (or point me in the right direction) how I can get this date filled in.
