After uninstalling this module I can't send emails anymore. Drupal Contact form throws "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." and looking into logs I see this error
Drupal\Component\Plugin\Exception\PluginNotFoundException: The "" plugin does not exist in Drupal\Core\Plugin\DefaultPluginManager->doGetDefinition() (line 52 of /var/www/html/drupal/public_html/core/lib/Drupal/Component/Plugin/Discovery/DiscoveryTrait.php).

BerdirCan't reproduce this. Just enabled mailsystem, sent a mail, then disabled it and sent another mail.
Maybe your system.mail configuration is broken and is missing a mail plugin but this module doesn't do anything with that, that would have been broken by something else.
Try enable verbose logging with backtrace to see where that error is coming from.
