Hello, I am beginning a project which will allow multiple users to access a Drupal system. The system will be a form of a CRM and content management system custom tailored for a specific industry.

I would like to centralize the functional code for the project, so an update to "the system" would reflect to all client accounts. I was hoping to provide client accounts at various sub-domains, i.e. "client.thewebsite.com"

Can anyone provide some recommended modules on how to perform this? I understand I will need to segregate the code from the client data, and also need something to help manage the sub-domains. Any suggestions or tips are welcome!

I think it's easier for you to use one of the Drupal's distributions.

See this one: https://www.drupal.org/project/erpal

It has many modules that may be useful for your project.

Best,

I appreciate that, I've used Erpal before and will likely opt for the custom build as planned which will be much leaner. Do you have any suggestions on modules or distributions that help centralize code?
