Hi all -- I posted this a week ago, but got no bites from anyone who can help. Reposting:

I'm having the most unusual problem. I'm pasting the URL to our e-newsletter in the HTML editor for our webpage. The newsletter is produced on a 3rd-party platform, Constant Contact (CC), and the URL is similar to a bitly link, where it jumps immediately to a more complicated URL. CC's tech support has explained that I must use the shorter link that they provide, as the complicated one that it jumps to will change periodically. So if the complicated URL is used on the website, the link will eventually break.

HOWEVER, I try the page after a couple weeks, and the HTML has changed! The URL is now the complex one, and the bitly link is no longer there, and I have a full page of broken links. To make sure that I've pasted the correct link in properly, I have pasted, saved, tested link, closed browser, reopened, tested link again, gone into HTML editor to ensure the bitly link is there. And it's all good. But some time later, maybe a few days, weeks, I don't know, the webpage HTML gets changed to link to the complex destination link.

How can I prevent this? Why does Drupal do this?

Thanks,
John
