This is probably a silly question, but here goes. Which permission check box alters whether or not a user can turn off comments? I don't want users to be able to turn off comments in the forums. I don't see the setting for that. Your help is appreciated.

Is this hypothetical or are you actually having issues with users disabling comments?

Thanks VM. I was just test driving 8. But I noticed my registered users can disable comments on their own threads. I don't see a way to prevent this in the permissions screen.

Likely isn't a permission specific to this setting but another permission (something elevated) you have set that is providing that ability. A screenshot of the permissions screen would aid.

I am new to drupal and I am thoroughly enjoying the environment it has helped me create with the teachers i work with. However, I have one fairly important function that I cannot make use of that would make a world of difference to the way we respond to each other
