This functionality has it's own issue under Panels here:
#2688359: Allow editing of a block content

But it's critical to Lightning and I don't want to wait on a panels release. So this issue will cover patching panels (until a release with this commit is tagged) and a functional test.

A few questions about the branch:

  • Looks like the Here be dragons text block isn't being cleaned up for some reason.
  • What's the .idea line in gitignore for?Not a big deal, but isn't idea in your global gitignore?
  • Test looks like it does what I would expect. Let's touch base quickly though to triple check (you indicated that it might not)

Ok.

#1 Looks like it must be cached somewhere. It doesn't appear in the custom block library, but I see it in IPE... UNTIL I create a new custom block. Then it disappears.

#2 I'll remove

#3 Test looks good to me.
